A Day After Snow

The air is filled
with flashes of sun,
like it broke into bits
and the wind now blows it apart,
all these separate pieces, everywhere.

Countless more flecks of sun spin
through everything, too small to see,
hidden in the depths of us,
of creation, the depths of everywhere,
everything water in every form.

We bounce around the side roads to home
over ridges of frozen slushed snow,
see our frontyard snowmen smiling:
welcome sun, above, below, within, without;
temperatures change, miracles abound.

    I love this poem!! One of my favorites…it made me smile deep inside. The “flashes of sun,/like it broke into bits” is amazing!! “Countless more flecks of sun spin/ through everything, too small to see” is wonderful. I love the ending “miracles abound” as it is powerful and such truth. The stanzas feel good here. So much packed into this little piece. Bravo!!! Thank you for sharing and for writing!!

      Ah, i am blessed by your careful reading. And kind commenting. I’d thought the poem was near to nothing, but reading that two others have found goodness in those last lines is comfort. Many blessings, friend!
