A Dedication

Everybody wants to know their strengths
Only a few want to know their weaknesses
And nobody (really) wants to find out

So the universe came
And the ugly-beautiful-hard-soft of the world showed all of its faces to you
The inter-being-ness of hatred and love came to sit upon your shoulders

Your knees buckled – but only for a moment –
You found your ground and your anchors

The universe kept coming
And the angry-accepting-fearful-brave of the world showed all of its faces to you
The inter-being-ness of indifference and inclusiveness came to sit upon your shoulders

Your knees buckled – but only for a moment –
You found new ground and dropped anchor

Then the universe shook
The shocking-surprising-deadening-enlivening of the world showed all of its faces to you
The inter-being-ness of denial and knowing came to rest upon your shoulders

Your knees buckled – but only for a moment –
You lifted – moved – searched – grounded – rose
Found the stars – questioned them
Followed them and celebrated them

And now they celebrate you.
