Driving beneath a canopy of clouds
along the naked treeline
turns the sun
into flashes of heat against my cheek
light and shadow
light and shadow
light and shadow
the gifts and sorrows
a matter of perspective
looking just right
through the window

I love the repetition of the”light and shadow” it really captures that strobe effect of light coming through the branches while driving! The “gifts and sorrows” are a wonderful pair to the light and shadow! I really like how the opening stanza “turns the sun/into flashes”. That is delightful to read. The ending is great with the play of perspective and looking. Overall, this is a neat little piece packed with deeper meaning from the sun flashing through the branches. Well done!!! Love and light your way…
Thank you for your kind words! It is a blessing when Christ helps us to see…
