The Way We’re Wired

When there is silence

I know he is not bored, only quiet.

His quietude ends with connections.

Maybe he gets this from his dad.

Default mode:  I love you.

This is an interesting exploration of silence! I love the varying dimensions of it expressed here. The line breaks with the space around them supports the silence. Very nice ending that leaves a resonating musing. The brevity and stance of this piece works wonderfully with the context. Love it!!! I am still in awe of your posting daily this month!!! I have looked forward to reading your poems every day (even if I didn’t get to them right away). Enjoy the amazing day!!! Love and light to you…

You are an astute reader, Cynthia. Most of this poem happened by accident, but then seemed to work and fit. The napwrimo prompt was to write backward. Start with an ending. This created an interesting process for me and an interesting poem. I love your observations. Thank you!
