Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga Workshop, Beginners

Wednesday, June 1, No Limits Studio (B)
6:00 – 8:00pm

This workshop is designed for students who have never participated in power yoga classes before.  So don’t be shy, everyone will be in the same boat!  In fact, no prior yoga experience is required.  We will learn proper breathing techniques, foundational poses that make up the sun salutations, safe ways of moving and breathing, how to link one pose to the next, and helpful tips to slip into relaxation.

*Power yoga is a physically demanding practice; please check with your health care provider before attending if you have any concerns.

Yoga for Life Benefit Class ~ Refugees & Carry the Future

Sunday, June 26, No Limits Studio (A)
6:00 – 7:30pm

Yoga for Life is an easy-going all-levels class. We will engage in a mindful exploration of breathing and moving that will not only benefit our bodies, minds, and spirits, but will also benefit the members of our world community through our donations. You are enthusiastically invited to donate funds to support refugee families in Europe through the California-based organization  Carry the Future.

With volunteers worldwide, Carry the Future is dedicated to providing a way for everyday people to have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of parents and children in need by personally delivering baby and toddler carriers to European refugees.  All monetary donations collected will be submitted directly to Carry the Future via to help support this cause.

Weekly Classes

Yoga for Kids (Designed for ages 4 – 9)

Mondays, 9:30-10:15am, No Limits Studio (A)
June 20, 27; July 18, 25; Aug. 8, 15
$25 per participant for the summer or $5 drop-in.

Yoga for Kids is a 45 minute class dedicated to the child’s yoga journey.  Parents, grandparents, caregivers, older and younger siblings are invited to share the joys of mindful breathing and moving. Each class will explore a different imaginative landscape. Come breathe, laugh, and play! (Geared for ages 4 – 9, but all are welcome.  Baby siblings are invited to hangout in mom or dad’s arms and enjoy the vibe.)

Gentle Yoga ~ Beginners and Beyond
Mondays, 6:00 – 7:00pm, No Limits Studio (B)

$55 for the Summer or $10 drop-in.

Gentle Yoga will explore mindful breathing and moving, foundational yoga poses, and deep relaxation.  Easy-going, invigorating, & restorative.  All levels welcome!

Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga (Beginners Welcome)

$55 for the Summer or $10 drop-in.

Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga is grounded in the traditional Ashtanga tradition.  This is a focused, 60-minute, short-form class designed to build strength and flexibility through vigorous movement and use of the ujjayi (victorious) breath. We will spend time working on individual poses, as well as cultivating the “flow,” linking movement to movement through the breath, which is one of the joys of vinyasa (moving and breathing at the same time on purpose). We will learn modifications that support us where we are weak and ones that challenge us where we are strong. This class is open to beginners, however, it is not recommended for those recovering from illness or injury. Please be prepared to work hard, as many of the sequences are physically demanding.

Yoga on the Lawn

Saturdays, 9:30-10:30am, Mansfield Art Center, On the Lawn
No set fee. (Donations appreciated ~ a portion of which supports the MAC.)

Yoga on the Lawn is a gentle, all-levels class in which we will cultivate mindfulness through movement and breath work. We will practice postures and mindful breathing to create space within the body for healing and to bring about an overall sense of well-being.

Dew-soaked grass and sunny skies can make for an invigorating yoga practice, and surrounding trees can provide ample shade.  Please bring a mat, blanket, towel, or even sunglasses as you see fit.  As this class is held outdoors, inclement weather is a concern. Please register by emailing, so that you will be notified if class is cancelled.
