Growing

Greetings, Fellow Yogis!

Today begins the pause between winter sessions, which is a perfect opportunity to step out of our routines and see the world from a different perspective.  Since we won’t be in the studio this week, consider practicing at home at your regular class time, set yourself a slower pace, and become curious about your practice, looking at it from a new perspective.

The last few weeks we’ve considered what it means to “grow a yoga pose.”  As you practice, let the breath be the guide and follow the inhalations into length and space, and follow the exhalations to find depth and strength.  You might just fall in the love with some brand new shapes!

There is one opportunity for studio practice this week, and that is the Yoga for Life Benefit Class, this Thursday from 9:30 – 10:30am.  Please click here for the details regarding this, as well as the second session of winter quarter yoga.  Scroll through the offerings to find the class that’s best for you.

Happy Practicing!

Make-up Classes

Hi Yoga Friends,

For those of you who have pre-paid for an entire session and have missed a class due to illness or other extenuating circumstances, consider attending one of my other classes as a make-up.   Please review the current class schedule and see which class might work for you.  Keep in mind that you are welcome to attend any yoga class regardless of the style of class you are currently registered for.  Restorative Yoga and Gentle Yoga are very similar, and both Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga Classes follow a similar flow and intensity level.

Stay well, and happy practicing!

Thank you & Reminders

Happy New Year, Yoga Friends!
Thank you to all those who participated in the Yoga for Life Benefit class and to all who donated even though they were unable to attend.  Lexington’s United Methodist Church of the Cross is grateful to you for supporting their “snack sack” ministry and helping underprivileged students get the nutrition they need.
And thanks to all who tried out the free Restorative Yoga class on Thursday.  It was great to see new and familiar faces!
Everyone is welcome to enjoy a free Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga class, tomorrow morning, Saturday, January 7, from 7:00am – 8:15am.  Yes, it will be cold outside at 6:45 in the morning, but, The Butterfly House will be snuggly warm (heated floors!) and so will you!
An Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Workshop for Beginners will be held this Sunday from 1:00 – 3:30pm.  It’s a great opportunity to learn the basics of power yoga in detail, with lots of time to slow down, ask questions, and build a solid foundation for your future practice.
The first session of yoga classes for Winter Quarter officially begins Monday, January 9 with All Levels Gentle Yoga in the morning, and Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga in the evening, both at No Limits Studio in Lexington.
Please visit the Current Yoga Class Schedule for locations and full details on all classes, events, and workshops for Winter Quarter 2017.  You can register for class by emailing me at contact@thecatholicyogi.com, or, you can use the contact form.
Looking forward to practicing with you!
