Morning Yoga

Good morning, Yoga Friends,

If you haven’t joined us for outdoor morning yoga yet this summer, you have two more opportunities:  today, as well as next Saturday (July 30th), 9:30am – 10:30am at the Mansfield Art Center on the Lawn.

Additionally, if you’re ready for a slightly earlier start, my friend and former student, Hatha yoga teacher Tiffany Gavula, will be offering a free class this morning (July 23rd) at Lexington Bicentennial Park at 9:00am.

Grab your mat and head on out!

Happy Practicing!

Benefit Class

Yoga for Life Benefit Class ~ A Work of Mercy ~ Refugees & Carry the Future

Sunday, June 26, No Limits Studio (A)
6:00 – 7:30pm
Donation

Yoga for Life is an easy-going all-levels class. We will engage in a mindful exploration of breathing and moving that will not only benefit our bodies, minds, and spirits, but will also benefit the members of our world community through our donations. You are enthusiastically invited to donate funds to support refugee families in Europe through the California-based organization  Carry the Future.

With volunteers worldwide, Carry the Future is dedicated to providing a way for everyday people to have a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of parents and children in need by personally delivering baby and toddler carriers to European refugees.  All monetary donations collected will be submitted directly to Carry the Future via carrythefuture.org to help support this cause.

If you’d rather send new baby and toddler carries directly to Carry the Future, visit amazon.com to search and shop from the “carry the future wish list” or find Carry the Future on Facebook.  To learn more about their amazing work, please visit carrythefuture.org.

Remember, no pre-registration is needed, and you need not participate in class in order to donate!

Works of Mercy

Pope Francis has declared December 8, 2015 – November 20, 2016 an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy.  In honor of this, benefit classes will be fulfilling some of the works of mercy as set out by the Catechism of the Catholic Church and described by Pope Francis:

Corporal Works of Mercy:

  1.  Feed the hungry
  2. Give drink to the thirsty
  3. Dess the naked
  4. House the pilgrims
  5. Visit the sick
  6. Visit the imprisoned
  7. Bury the dead

Spiritual Works of Mercy

  1. Advise those in doubt
  2. Teach the ignorant
  3. Admonish the sinners
  4. Console the afflicted
  5. Forgive offenses
  6. Be patient with annoying people
  7. Pray to God for both the living and the dead.

Yoga Workshop

Happy Summer, Yoga Friends!  Don’t forget to come to the season’s first yoga gathering, and spread the word…

Ashtanga-Based Power Yoga Workshop, Beginners
Wednesday, June 1, No Limits Studio (B)
6:00 – 8:00pm
$20

This workshop is designed for students who have never participated in power yoga classes before.  So don’t be shy, everyone will be in the same boat!  In fact, no prior yoga experience is required.  We will learn proper breathing techniques, foundational poses that make up the sun salutations, safe ways of moving and breathing, how to link one pose to the next, and helpful tips to slip into relaxation.

Hope to see you there!

Happy Practicing!
